I have so many feelings going on right now...
I'm traumatized.
I'm mad.
I'm sad.
I'm every sad/upset feeling and not one happy feeling.
I witnessed an animal get hit by a car for the first time today. Now for my friends in Minnesota, this isn't like watching someone hit a deer (which I've never seen but heard of).
I watched a motor cycle hit a cat in the center lane of traffic. I was driving on the left, the cat came bolting across from the left. I saw it and hit my breaks. The motorcycle had time to see the cat, and also had the ability to move. He didn't. Now all I can see is the cat after it hit the wheel. I'm not going to go into detail but if anyone has ever seen something similar, I'm sure you can imagine. I'm so mad that this guy didn't even try to brake for the animal.
By no means am I done ranting about this, but I'll stop for now.
I just want to remind people to keep their pets indoors or on leashes, something. If you don't want a pet please, sell it, give it to a shelter, anything. I know there are a lot of animals getting euthanized in shelters lately and I'm not down for killing animals if there's a chance they can get adopted, but I feel like its better than getting run over or for larger animals.
If that cat belonged to a family I feel bad for them because they lost a pet but maybe they'll learn to take better care of their pets. As for the driver of the motorcycle, I'm furious. I get that sometimes animals dart out and yadda yadda, but I had time to react and it crossed my lane of traffic first.
I have no other words. :( Good night everyone.
